More About Jeffrey
I want to share the experience as well as the image
I get lost in space and time when I’m behind the camera
I want to know why things work
If I am not keeping myself busy my mind will undoubtedly escape on wild tangents
The feeling I get when I know I’ve just made an amazing image is like no other
I don’t understand people who knowingly don’t give their best
I want my entertainment to be intelligent
I love good conversation, I cant stand gossip
I enjoy not only seeing new places but also hearing, smelling and feeling them tooI see things differently
I love problem solving
I have always loved the way the world looks through my camera’s lens
My two main passions in photography right now are people and landscapes, and while photographers who specialize in one usually do not find themselves enjoying the other as thoroughly, I do. There is a lot I have learned to take from one area and apply to the other in order to improve both areas of my portfolio. By being exposed to some amazingly gorgeous and overwhelming landscapes, I have learned to better capture not just the scenery but the way I was feeling while seeing it. Being able to draw upon those techniques while shooting events and environmental portraits is an unexpected reward of the long hikes and early morning outings of landscape photography. On the flip side; by honing my awareness of that “decisive moment” while making deeper connections with my subjects during portrait sessions, and by helping those connections to travel through the lens and live in the final image as well, I’ve found I’m better able connect and interact with my environment while out capturing my somewhat less vocal subjects.
Also, let it be known that I am a pretty big nerd. I have a definite love of gadgets and (most) all things shiny, with a special place carved out for both Apple and Nikon. I love music, both listening and creating, and in my opinion my friends make some of the best out there. I’m casual yet passionate. Soft spoken but steadfast. And all of who I am, I bring to everything I do.
